Walk and Talk

Every 4th Monday of the month at 1:30PM, except on stat holidays. The alternate dates will be listed here.

Persian Caregiver group

We invite those who are a support person to elders, relatives, spouses, friends and community members. The meetings are an opportunity to connect with others who also seek to improve their own health and well-being, and to gain skills that will help you better manage the caregiving journey.

The group is facilitated in Farsi by Katayoun Shirzad, featuring a variety of topics such as managing boundaries, stress relief techniques, and communicating with family members.

Monthly Network Groups

Caregiver comment: ‘I love coming here every month. It feels so comforting, being around people who get what I’m talking about on a deeper level’.

The meetings give people the opportunity to:

  • Connect and share ideas with other family caregivers
  • Explore the challenges of caregiving
  • Learn strategies for relaxation and stress management
  • Learn about resources to support family caregivers

The 1st Thursday of the month at 7pm, and the 2nd Wednesday at 10.30 am.

Being prepared for a loved one’s incapacity: A talk on Committeeship

What happens if your loved one falls ill without any incapacity planning documents in place? A court-ordered committee may be required. In this relevant talk, Mike will explain the ins and outs of committeeship- when you need it; when you don’t.

BC Family Caregiver Week

Did you know there is a special week designated to recognizing family caregivers? Family Caregiver Week is the 1st week of May each year.

The 4th ANNUAL CAREGIVER EXPO is on May 4th 2019 at Delbrook Recreation Centre.
