North Shore Community Resources Society (NSCR) Hosts a number of programs and projects which enhance child care services and the quality of life for children and their families on the North Shore.
We are the host for the Program a provincial program that provides services, support and consultation to parents, child care providers, community partners, and the public on issues related to child care and the early years. CCRR mandated services include maintaining the database of all licensed and registered child care providers, assisting families with finding child care, training for child care providers and parents, assistance with applications for child care subsidy, providing resources, library and equipment loan, newsletters, and personalized consultation with a staff of early childhood professionals. This service is funded by the Province of B.C.
Other services include support to group child care centres through networking, consultation, training, library supports, and community planning. We also assist in providing statistical and practical information on the development of new child care spaces. These services are funded by the District of North Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver.
NSCR is the host of a number of community planning tables including the Connect for Kids Early Years Planning Table (formerly called WECAN).This collaborative agency planning table and numerous subcommittees plan and implement activities and projects based on research that support families, address service gaps, and ensure minimal duplication with cost effective action. This table is funded by the United Way and other project specific community grants.
